Creole Cottage Apartment is a small apartment complex in Anse Royale, on the south-east coast of Mahé. It suits travellers who would rather not stay in a hotel: instead of a lobby bar and an activity schedule, you get your own apartment with a full kitchen, and you decide when to have breakfast and what to cook for dinner. It is closer to living on the island than to following a tourist route — the morning market, fresh fish, fruit from a roadside stall, and everything cooked at home.
There are six apartments. Four studios sleep two: compact, with a kitchen area and everything within reach. Two larger apartments take up to four guests each, which works well for a family with children. A group can book the whole property — together it accommodates up to sixteen people.
Every apartment has a fitted kitchen with hob, fridge, microwave and crockery, plus a washing machine, air conditioning, an iron, Wi-Fi and its own shower room. Housekeeping is available on request, at extra cost.
The rooftop barbecue area, open to the ocean, deserves a mention of its own — it is what makes this address memorable. Dinner at sunset after a day by the sea, with no table to book and no drive to a restaurant. For self-catering accommodation on Mahé, a terrace like this is rare.
Anse Royale is a quiet, green part of the island, well away from the busier north coast. Anse Royale beach is about fifteen minutes on foot or five by car, and the international airport is roughly twenty-five minutes away. The village has shops, cafés and a bank.
Two beaches we have already covered in the guide are close by: the quiet Anse Bougainville and Fairyland, with the best shore snorkelling and the calmest water for children on this coast.
We feature the property in our guide, handle enquiries in Russian, English and French, and book on your behalf. Seyfinity guests receive a discount on the nightly rate, and it depends on the length of stay: a week works out better than a weekend, and a month better than a week. We will advise what fits your party — a studio for two, an apartment for a family, or the whole complex for a group. The owners arrange airport transfers and excursions on request, at extra cost.
Who it suits: couples, families and groups who value independence over hotel service, and anyone choosing the south of Mahé — quieter and greener than the north. There is no pool on site, which is worth knowing in advance.
